The Royal Show

Postby Morhogs on Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:21 am

The Royal Show takes place in early July at Stoneleigh, I believe this is the last time the show is to be held which seems a great shame. I am heading over for a few days to admire the rare breeds and to sample some yummy food. Might just arrange for a few pigs to come to Ireland!!!
The show runs from the 7th July until the 11th (check the website for times)

Hi,

Thats a pity that the last couple of years have been disappointing, maybe they will pull out the extra stops as it is the last show. I'm just delighted to get a couple of days away from home, its such a treat.

Royal show

Just returned from the show and I have to agree with you that it was a bit quiet on the pig front, however I met some great folk and made some good contacts for importing more piggies.
The weather was changable to say the least and I did get caught in a few heavy downpours, I reckon it was natures way of getting us into the food halls to eat more of the lovely grub!! On that note had an amazing dry cured Tamworth bacon butty....

Great cattle turnout with some very high quality beasts on show. I felt saddened when chatting to some of the older farmers who had been part of the show for so many years and to know this was the last one.
