Tradtional Irish Music Concert, Co Leitrim ; Fri 6 March

Postby sallygardens on Sat Feb 28, 2009 10:41 am

A charitable traditional Irish Music concert called 'The Frost Is All Over' will be performed this Friday 6th March in the Mayflower Centre, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. Starts 8pm sharp. Tickets just E5 on the door, under 12's free. A fantastic night of music, song and dance. All proceeds to St Patrick's Hospital Comfort Fund, Carrick on Shannon and St Vincent de Paul.

The concert is being performed by the Drumshanbo FE (mature!) students (of which I am one). There will be over 30 musicians on stage at some point with harp, banjo, fiddles, mandolins, concertinas, button accordion, guitar, tin whistles and flute. Students range from those who first picked up an instrument last September to others who've been playing for decades. We've been practicing diligently every day and look forward to showcasing the fruits of our efforts.

Come and join the foot stomping fun.
