Hello from East Galway

Postby Donncha Mac Donncha on Sat Jun 28, 2008 8:39 pm

Hi from not so sunny north east Galway Myself and my partner moved here about 4 years ago from London. I am from Galway and he is from London. We renovated a 200year old cottage on two acres. We are growing some organic veg and keep some completly mad chickens. The next step is a couple of pigs and goats. We have a beautiful old apple tree(cooking) and I would love to know if you have any ideas what to do with all the left overs. Another question you might be able to help out with is I love cooking and would like to grow horse radish, any idea where I can get some.

Love your site and I have found it very helpful. I will be in contact about your e-booklets on pigs and goats, would it be posible to call in to you sometime as you are not too far away

Donncha

Welcome to the forum. Your set up sounds idyllic, like so many of the others on this site. It's always great to hear from yet another like minded set of people.

I'll get in touch with you about the pig and goat ebooklets, and also about a possible smallholding visit. And I'm going to copy n paste your cooking apple and horse radish query over to another more appropriate category where I, and hopefully others, will post replies.

All the best, and welcome again.

Radish plants

Postby sallygardens on Mon Jun 30, 2008 2:13 pm

I know where there is a radish plant growing in Co Longford. I was going to dig it up and move it to my garden, when I do I'll let you know and could post you some of the root.

Does anybody know where to buy it?
