piglets

Our red Mangalitza sow produced 9 piglets last night just before midnight, we stayed with her until they all settled and then left her in peace, I could not believe it this morning, on the breakfast run, I found one of her piglets in the next paddock, the little gilt was frozen and had obviously been there for some time, she was barely breathing so I rushed her into the house and wrapped her in a towel, in tin foil and placed her on a hot water bottle. After an emotional day of trying to bottle feed her I reluctantly put her back with mum and stood back fearing the worst, however, she is still alive this evening and appears top have settled back in with her brothers and sisters and looks like she has had a feed.
I still dont know how she ended up so far away from the farrowing shed, my daughters (who have displayed a shocking lack of imagination) have called her "Lucky"!!!!
We shall keep a close eye on her over the next few days.

Well Done Morag,
Congrats and I hope they all thrive from here on in! Can I be tactless and ask how much one of these babies will cost?
