Our first courgette!

Postby Egirl on Fri Jul 11, 2008 10:35 am

I picked my one & only courgette yesterday, it was delightful. Not getting many more but I do see some new flowers so I live in hope. Will have to start harvesting beans too. I think I see some baby toms appearing on one of the bushes. This wet weather has really not helped, considering I was a late starter this year anyway! I will be more organised next year. My spring broccoli is in, might plant some cauliflower soon too and have to section off a bit of the bed for winter greens now too.

OH is very impressed! :D

Nothing like home grown courgette sliced and fried in butter... heavenly!

It's funny how fast they can grow, blink and there's suddenly 3 more huge ones on the plant.

Hi Rebecca, might move the courgettes & squash to the compost heap, they are definately restricted in the containers and I would love some more fruit from them. Once my chicks are settled in the brooder I'll try & reorganise things. Must get that cauliflower in too!
