Late Season Seed Potatoes

Postby Laura on Sat Jun 28, 2008 12:32 pm

I have a catalogue from the UK listing late season seed potatoes but I would rather not pay £15/€19 to have them sent here.

Does anyone know of an Irish supplier of late season potatoes?

I always find Ardcarne garden centres to be very helpful. Look them up and give them a ring, they will check if they have any in stock and if not they have always got stuff in for me on request.

There's also a famous spud/garden shop in Dublin that do mail order, I shall have to ask my neighbour for the name, but I'll get back to you on it.

You will probably have to deal with blight when planting late varieties though, which is why it's great to get a big lot of early and mid season spuds in by end of March. They are usually big enough to harvest when the first blight hits, around now.
