Kune kune

Postby Morhogs on Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:08 am

We were getting very concerned about our little Kune Kune boar that we brought over from England earlier this year as he was showing little interest in our wee gilt. He was a bit overweight so I have had him on a diet, much to his disgust, and put him in a small paddock with very little grass. So after a period in isolation he is now back with Flora MacDonald (the gilt) and she has been in season the past couple of days and at last he has discovered his reason for being!!! We will let him run with her for the next few weeks just to make sure so hopefully we will have Kune Kune piglets at the beginning of the year, will keep you posted.

We had a similar problem with our rabbit, but he's all go now and we've christened him Buck Rogers!
Visit our rural Irish smallholding at www.sallygardens.typepad.com where we move smoothly from one crisis to the next and teach others how to do the same!

Kune Kune's are great...pig in sheeps clothing :D

Morhogs is your only woman for Kune Kunes. I saw one of the animals she sold on a local farm. Absolutely wonderful creature.
